LPBK Tours the International African American Museum

On Saturday, July 20, 2024, twenty members and friends of the Lowcountry Chapter of Phi Beta Kappa enjoyed a personalized, two-hour tour of Charleston's International African American Museum (IAAM). The tour was conducted by Dr. Bernard Powers, Director of the Center for the Study of Slavery in Charleston and Professor Emeritus of History at the College of Charleston. Dr. Powers was a pivotal figure in the founding and opening of the IAAM.
